The Gardens at
The Shenandoah Valley Farm and Inn
Currently, we have about ten acres in our garden area. We believe the design reflects our philosophy that a good garden should be appealing all year long. With this in mind, we have included structures and statuary, as well as a great many plants with "winter interest." The gardens include
- an extensive collection of native and exotic trees and shrubs. All of the uncommon species are labeled
- a formal herb garden
- perennial plantings and an always-colorful collection of annuals
- new selections and cultivars of trees and shrubs being tested for the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C.
- a fish pond with many colorful varieties of koi and goldfish.
- three other ponds for guest fishing

Our bonsai collection
Our gardens have been featured in a number of newspapers and magazines, including Southern Living and Progressive Farmer. We keep them available for garden club tours and for horticultural student field trips.
We believe that you will like them, too.
